Aligning investment portfolios with the Paris Agreement - guidance on oil and gas producers
Our new Asset Owner Guide to Oil & Gas Producers offers recommendations on how asset owners can align investment in the oil and gas sector with the goals of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

Based on climate science, the guide argues that asset owners should phase-out virtually all oil and gas investments from portfolio by 2040 in OECD countries, and globally by 2050 globally.

Existing literature and
market developments indicate that action to respect Paris climate goals will accelerate the breakthrough of zero-carbon technologies such as electric cars, renewable power and energy efficiency.

This will impact demand
for oil and gas, and primarily affect high-carbon-high-cost oil and gas projects.

WWF has published a range of guides for asset owners, containing recommendations on how they can address climate-related risks and opportunities – and align their investment portfolios with the Paris Agreement. Find out more here.
