WWF is one of the largest conservation organisations in the world, with offices in almost 100 countries. We’re determined to stop the destruction of nature and help it recover. And we are uniquely positioned to deliver real change at scale.
If we truly want to stop catastrophic climate change, then we need to reduce our emissions, draw down the emissions already in the atmosphere and speed up the transition to a low-carbon future. Companies need to go beyond reductions and emissions to restore our climate.
That is why we are working with businesses in our Climate Business Network (CBN). This is a network of ambitious and influential companies convened by WWF that supports the transition to a 1.5°C future. It is a global support network for national WWF partnerships that helps drive businesses forward on their sustainability journey through engagement on key topics.
Together, we will address some of the key issues facing our planet and drive forward best practices on how to tackle them.
The Climate Business Network has 28 members working across some of the biggest business sectors on the planet. We have one goal: to work together to boost member companies’ ability to take action and achieve their targets in an effort to avoid the most perilous scenarios of climate change.
- A place designed for networking and collaboration with corporate peers in a neutral space.
- Monthly Community Calls where we present to members on a set of topics that are relevant to their businesses and share WWF’s perspective.
- Annual training workshops for suppliers to help tackle Scope 3 emissions and close the data gap.
- Occasional deep dive groups for more focused discussions on a single topic which provides opportunities for more in-depth engagement.
- Access to special WWF events at key fora, such as COP and New York Climate Week.
- Tailored updates on advocacy opportunities on the key areas that can impact participants.
Beyond Net-Zero combines actions laid out in other WWF corporate reports and is consistent with SBTi methodology and best practice approaches. It includes the metrics, practical advice, and best practices to help companies go beyond, all compiled and organised into seven key actions.
Join the CBN
To join the CBN, a company must meet the following criteria. It must:
- Be in partnership with a WWF National Office. We do not work with companies that have no partnership agreements.
- Be committed to or have a target approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). We need to see that you are working towards real change.
- Be a large national, international or influential brand.
