On December 28, 2020, Panama submitted its updated NDC. 

Panama has enhanced its mitigation targets for the sectors of Energy and LULUCF and has included 29 commitments for 10 sectors/strategic areas. The NDC results from a strong participatory process and presents linkages with SDGs, measurable Nature-based Solutions and plans for a transparent system to track implementation. 

According to the Checklist for the NDCs We Want and taking and into account that Panama is a highly vulnerable country with low responsibility (0,036% of global emissions) and a high-income country, we consider that the 2020 NDC is an NDC We Want.
