Innovation could tackle bee mite problem
The majority of global crops rely on animals to pollinate them - in particular, bees - but Varroa mites can destroy entire colonies of honeybees.
The mite is a leading cause of honey bee mortality and in the US beekeepers lose approximately 40% of their colonies each year.
By investing in an RNA solution which targets parasites without harming the bees or the environment, this innovation hopes to secure the integrity of our food systems.
