An International of Forum Youth and Green Jobs to develop the green economy

From June 18th to 22nd, the International Organization of the Francophonie organized in Antananarivo the first edition of the International Forum Youth and Green Jobs. The FIJEV was designed to offer young people a framework for dialogue around issues related to green jobs. Waste recycling, beekeeping ... contribute to the protection of the environment. The forum is also an opportunity for young people to meet development actors for financial advice and partnerships for their project.

This forum brought together about 200 young people project leaders in the sector of the economy and the environment in the Indian Ocean. During the forum, there were exhibitions, trainings, panel discussions and conferences on youth, climate change, sustainable development, and job creation.Three young project leaders are part of the Read-Dss network. It is the network of environmentalists and development actors in the Sava, Sofia and Diana regions. The network benefits from technical and financial support from WWF.
 
Three awards of excellence were collected by the Malagasy people. The third prize, worth 3,000 euros, has been awarded to Jauriette Ravavisoa from Read-Dss, for her project to promote the Hibiscus sabdariffa. This herbaceous plant is transformed into juice, jam and powder. It is a medicinal plant that also serves as a dietary supplement. Noël Anjaharimisa Randrianarivelo, another youth from Read-Dss, presented his ram pump which is an irrigation system. According to him, "it is a simple system that works without electricity. All farmers can get it ; it is cheaper and requires little maintenance”. The top ten projects, including those of our young Read-Dss benefit from support that allows them to start their activities.
