Introduction

After finishing my Master's degree in European Studies, I decided to quit my job to gain some practical experience in developmental work. And I was one of the lucky ones to get the assignment in Madagascar. I am 25 years old, from Germany and developed a strong interest in environmental, social and developmental topics over the last three years during my studies. With my education I gained a lot of knowledge of the political and judicial sphere of developmental aid and supra- and international organizations. However, I had no knowledge about sustainable farming, fish-cultivation or tree nursery, which were all fields of work in Madagascar. You see that I was a raw beginner in practical environmental aid.
