Organised by Forum Masyarakat Adat Dataran Tinggi Borneo (FORMADAT), a transboundary grass-root initiative that aims to increase awareness and understanding of the highlands communities in the Heart of Borneo. The challenge is an ecotourism event that relives history, culture and stewardship of nature.

The event aims to promote the importance of conservation in the Highlands and preserve its history, nature and culture. So the concept of treading lightly, “take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints”, is core to the organiser and participants.

There are six different trekking trail packages to choose from depending on one’s level of fitness and sense of adventure. Please refer to the Heart of Borneo Highlands Eco Challenge II brochure above.
