Restoring mangroves to regenerate wetlands


Fiona’s father hand-built the family’s gei wai, a once-thriving traditional tidal shrimp pond that sustained them and the surrounding area in Hong Kong.

After years of biodiversity loss, they are hoping the planting of mangroves will restore the habitat, protect the wetlands and revive the family legacy, while inspiring similar projects around the world.
