Dawa talks about how we all have a natural urge to better the world we live in, but due to the obstacles placed before us we give up before we even start. He shares stories of how he managed to start working on small ideas, developing them until they are joined and continued by a bigger mass.
About Dawa Steven
At 27 years of age, Dawa Steven has climbed four 8000m peaks by, including Mt. Everest twice. He graduated from Heriot-Watt University Scotland with an Honours Degree in Business Administration. Dawa Steven's father is Sherpa, and his mother Belgian. Dawa Steven speaks five languages. Dutch, Nepali, English, Hindi and German.Dawa Steven has followed his parent's footsteps to work in the adventure trekking and mountaineering expeditions industry. Since the climbing season of 2007 he has shown his entrepreneurial skills by establishing and running the world's highest bakery at Everest base camp (5330m).
Since 2008, Dawa Steven has been organizing the successful Eco Everest Expeditions to draw attention to the impact of climate change on the Himalayas and to field test eco-friendly approaches to running a major mountaineering expedition. The Eco Everest Expedition’s cleaning efforts have collected 13,000kgs of garbage till date.
