Karen Manvelyan joined WWF in May 2002. He graduated from Yerevan Zoo-Veterinary Institute and holds a PhD in animal physiology. Prior to joining WWF, he worked as a Head of Department of Biodiversity Conservation at the Institute of Botany as well as Scientific Director of the Yerevan Zoo.

Karen holds a Diploma in Endangered Species Management from the University of Kent and completed training courses on Endangered Species Management at Gerald Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust and on Wetlands Management in Yerevan. He specialized in the conservation of endangered species of plants and animals, as well as protected area management.

Narine Mirakyan

Narine Mirakyan joined WWF-Armenia in 2008 as a Finance and Administrative Manager. She graduated from the college of Yerevan State Engineering University in 1999 with a major in chemical technologies and holds BSc in Economics from the State Engineering University. She also completed the accountancy training courses provided by International Accountancy Training Centre Educational Fund in 2005.

In the period of 1999-2007 she worked as an accountant at “Eurostan-Uyut” Ltd. and was awarded the letter of commendation. Prior to joining WWF Armenia she worked as an economist-accountant at a private audit & accounting company.

Gera Voskanyan

Gera Voskanyan joined WWF-Armenia in June 2011. He started as a Project Coordinator at WWF and from August 2012 became the Partnership and Communications Manager.

Gera has a Master’s degree in Engineering in the field of Industrial Engineering and Systems Management from the American University of Armenia (Yerevan, Armenia) and a Bachelor degree in Engineering in the field of Power Energy from the State Engineering University of Armenia (Yerevan, Armenia).

Before joining WWF Gera worked at the USAID funded Competitive Armenian Private Sector (CAPS) Project as a Tourism Cluster Coordinator. He joined CAPS in January 2007. Prior to CAPS, he worked in the Engineering Research Center at the American University of Armenia as a researcher.

Aram Martirosyan

Aram Martirosyan joined WWF-Armenia in August 2007. He graduated from Yerevan Zoo-Veterinary Institute and has a specialty of veterinary surgeon and herpetologist.

Prior to joining WWF, he worked as a Head of Aquaterrarium at the Yerevan Zoo.

Aram is also working in WWF Armenia as a Project Local Coordinator in the implementation of different project activities.

Tamara Shaboyan

Tamara Shaboyan joined WWF-Armenia in November 2009. Before joining WWF, Tamara worked in «Khosrov Forest» State Reserve as a Specialist of International Affairs. She graduated from Yerevan State University in 2006, the Department of International Relations (Bachelor’s degree) and gained her Master’s degree in 2008.

Lilit Barseghyan

Lilit Barseghyan joined WWF-Armenia as an accountant/cashier in 2010. She graduated from the Yerevan State College of Light Industry with the profession of an economist. Later in 2008 Lilit graduated from the Armenian branch of Moscow International Entrepreneurship Academy with the profession of World Economy.

Prior to joining WWF she worked for “Armenian Spiritual Music Center” SNCO as an Assessor-Treasurer. From 2006 to 2010 she worked as a chief accountant at the Biodiversity Conservation of Armenian Highland Foundation.

Arman Kandaryan

Arman Kandaryan joined WWF-Armenia in October 2013. Before joining WWF, Arman worked in Armenia Tree Project NGO as a GIS specialist. He also worked for Forest Research and Experimental Centre of the RA Ministry of Nature protection, as a cartographer and for the Center for Ecological-Noosphere Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia as a junior researcher. Arman graduated from Yerevan State University in 1999, the Department of Geography.

Siranush Galstyan, MSc

Siranush Galstyan joined WWF-Armenia in March 2006. In 2002, she gained her Master's degree in Environmental Sciences and Policy from the Central European University in Budapest.

Upon returning from her studies in Europe, Siranush worked in Armenia in a forestry related project dealing with different aspects of the forestry sector including institutional and legal issues, as well as capacity building. In that context, she was involved in a number of participatory processes for the development of forest policy and strategy, the national forest program, forestry legislation and others.

As a core team member, she also participated in the organization and implementation of workshops and trainings. In 2004, Siranush coordinated a CBD related project including the preparation and publication of a guide on biodiversity for lecturers and students. This publication includes general information about biodiversity as well as an Armenian translation of the Convention.

Siranush speaks Armenian, Russian and English. She also teaches various environmental courses at the University level.

Karen Karapetyan has over 4 years of experience with the project management and implementation of KfW funded project at WWF-Armenia. He is qualified lawyer and holds a diploma with honour in the field of jurisprudence from the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University of Armenia (Yerevan, Armenia).

Prior to joining WWF, he worked at the Representation of the Interstate Bank in Armenia in the field of foreign communications. He has also developed legal practice as a paralegal in the private law firms.

Arthur Alaverdyan

Arthur Alaverdyan joined WWF-Armenia in September 2009. In 1999 he graduated from the Armenian Agrarian Academy forest department and got qualification as a forestry engineer. In 2004 he was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Biology.

Prior to joining WWF he worked for the Institute of Botany of the National Academy of Sciences as a forest cultures engineer and for the Natural Recourses Management and Poverty Reduction Project Implementation Unit of the Ministry of Nature Protection as a local expert.

Since 2002 till now Arthur has been working for Yerevan State University Ijevan Branch as a Head of the Forestry Department.

Vasil Ananyan

Vasil Ananyan joined WWF-Armenia in 2013. In 1994 he gained his Master's degree in Biology from Yerevan State University, Armenia and till 1996 he was involved in the Institute of Zoology and American University of Armenia (AUA) as a field and museum researcher during the production of “Field Guide to the Birds of Armenia” and “Handbook of the Birds of Armenia”. Later he studied conservation of raptors at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary (Pennsylvania, USA) and then worked as a freelance researcher. During 1998-2007 Vasil organized and guided the first international birdwatching tours in Armenia.

Before joining WWF he worked in Acopian Center for the Environment at AUA as a researcher and senior researcher (2000-2001, 2008-2012). Since 2005 he has been acting as an invited expert for inventory of avifauna in operating and envisaged Protected Areas of Armenia. Vasil provided consultations and completed a number of accounts on threatened species of birds and dragonflies for the second edition of “The Red Book of Animals of the Republic of Armenia” (2010).
