WWF launched a new strategy that harnesses the strengths of the WWF network in a shared vision, focussing on six major goals - water, wildlife, the ocean, climate and energy, forests, and food – and three key drivers of environmental problems – markets, finance and governance.
In support of this strategy WWF undertook a redesign of its international secretariat that will further unite WWF offices and its near 6,400 staff around the world. This will help WWF to build stronger partnerships across the world with government, business, civil society and individuals. Together, we will deliver on WWF’s ambitious goals.
We are recruiting the role of Manager, Donor Communications for our International Secretariat to help us achieve our new ambitious goals, and build a future where people live in harmony with nature.

The Role:

To design, develop and implement clear and effective fundraising materials to support the work
of the Fundraising Department. This will include designing donor communication strategies and
writing materials to support the global goals and practices, as well as writing donor reports,
funding proposals, newsletters and other communication tools for fundraising.

Main responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the relationship managers, actively supports the development of donor stewardship and prospect cultivation strategies to deepen and strengthen donor/prospect engagement
  • Works with Practice leaders and their teams to identify content for fundraising materials, including thematic briefings and tangible stories and cases studies of impact. Works closely with the Proposal Development Managers of the Global Practices to produce materials to support fundraising for the global goals
  • Develops or assists the development of donor proposals and reports, working in conjunction with fundraising relationship managers and conservation staff at global or local levels, ensuring the end product is relevant, timely and of the highest quality
  • Plans and writes some donor communication materials, including newsletters, updates alerts to keep donors and prospects engaged in WWF’s work
  • Support the WWF Network fundraisers through materials, trainings and working with the Global Development Centre

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

  • Minimum undergraduate degree
  • At least five years relevant professional experience in either marketing, fundraising, PR or communications
  • Experience of working in an international environment, particularly and NGO, would be an advantage
  • Understanding of the principles of communications and fundraising, especially donor
  • Proven ability to create donor friendly materials, including proposals, reports and
  • Experience of producing fundraising appeals (online, or through direct mail) an advantage
  • Articulate, creative, passionate, flexible and tenacious
  • Excellent written and oral skills in English; fluency in French an advantage
  • Attention to detail, diplomacy and discretion
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a multi-cultural environment
  • Interest in conservation and environmental issues
