Progress on the Yaoundé Declaration: Equitorial Guinea

In May 2000, a new law was passed in Equatorial Guinea called Law on Protected Areas of Equatorial Guinea.
This law increased the number of protected areas in that country from 8 to 13 zones.

Equatorial Guinea has set up a national committee following the summit, and, for the first time, drawn up a national policy document on forests indicating how it intends to manage its forests in the future.
