The Earth Hour Bhutan
Our task was to organize the EARTHHOUR on the 29th March 2014. As they went along organizing everything from Chief guest to a Cleaning Campaign in the Morning of the EARTH HOUR, I was busy designing banners for the stages, bookmarks, T-shirts and road banners for Thimphu. We were kept busy as many things did not work the way we planned them and we had to be very flexible in our work hours and the way we managed to collaborate with our partners.
We ordered T-shirts from India, which only arrived the night before the EARTH HOUR and we had to get back to the office late at night to receive them, unpack them and prepare everything for the event.
The same day only a few hours earlier, at 9pm, I got a phone call from the event management company that we hired, that there was something wrong with the banners and they were not able to correct it themselves. So we had to go to their shop and correct everything. With all the stress and trouble we had, we still produced a successful event with everything in place and a happy crowd as well as a happy office.
The only smaller hiccup occurred when I played the same short movie twice, but that was corrected quickly.
The whole organization was a nice experience in working together with other colleagues from the office and getting used to the last minute mentality, which worked out better then expected and showed me once more that there is more than one way to get to a specific target.
