OUR AMAZON IS REACHING A POINT OF NO RETURN

The Living Amazon Report 2022 is based on the conviction that the destiny of humanity has within its reach the means to guarantee a prosperous life for all without destroying the natural wealth of the biome on which our collective well-being is based. Thus, WWF's vision for the Amazon, and with which we hope to inspire a collective effort to keep it alive, is: “An ecologically healthy Amazon Biome that maintains its environmental and cultural contributions to local peoples, the countries of the region, and the world, within a framework of social equity, inclusive economic development and global responsibility”
 
The report helps us to understand, with knowledge and science, the current state of the biome and the basin. It summarizes the main threats and drivers of change, while outlining a conservation strategy for this decade that will allow the vision of a Living Amazon for the future to become a reality.
