Capacity building, fishing catch monitoring and community-based marine area management are at the heart of our support towards the communities in the villages of Vassy, Dzindri and Salamini.
The collaboration between WWF Madagascar and the NGO Dahari started in 2014. The NGO Dahari works for the sustainable development and conservation of marine biodiversity in the island of Anjouan, Comoros. The Comoros are at the center of the northern landscape of the Mozambique Channel, the world's second hotspot for the diversity of coral fauna and flora.

Capacity building, fishing catch monitoring and community-based marine area management are at the heart of our support towards the communities in the villages of Vassy, Dzindri and Salamini. This is conducted in partnership with Blue Ventures. In December, WWF team traveled to Comoros for exchanges in order to improve the sustainable management of natural resources with communities.

According to Serge Solo, social development senior officer at WWF, « Dahari’s willingness to integrate social dimensions in its support to communities is already an important lever. Gender issues, fight against poverty, respect for human and communities rights, are all levers that strengthen the commitment of local communities, their well-being and an inclusive natural resource management. »
