International Day of Biodiversity in Dilijan National Park

Posted on May, 22 2019

On May 22, WWF Armenia together with many visitors of the center celebrated the International Day of Biodiversity at the Dilijan National Park's Red Deer Breeding Center. On the same day, a fawn was born in the center, for whom the guests helped to choose a name. The name was Dina.

Guests at the center also had an opportunity to get acquainted with the red deer reintroduction project, as well as to visit the souvenir shop of the center.

Caucasian Red Deer reintroduction program has been initiated by the Ministry of Nature Protection of Armenia and WWF Armenia in 2013.

Financial supporters of the project are: Federal Republic of Germany through KfW Development Bank, WWF Germany, Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF) and Transboundary Joint Secretariat (TJS).
