International Day of Forests in Laos

WWF, Laos government partners, conservation iNGOs, and Lao students marked the International Day of Forests at an event organized by the Center for Conservation Leadership and CARE International.
WWF participated with government partner the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment (MONRE), partner conservation iNGOs and the Department of Forestry of National University of Laos in marking the International Day of Forests.  Country Director Somphone Bouasavanh presented on WWF work in Laos in the forestry sector, showcasing the WWF strategy to combat climate change, and touching on topics ranging from impacts of illegal logging and climate change related challenges in community forest management.

The event also featured student debates on the topic of community forest management.
The International Day of Forests was organized by iNGOs partners Center for Conservation Leadership and CARE International.
