The Mekong Delta in Vietnam is home to amazing biodiversity - and about 17 million people. To help Delta communities relieve the pressure on their natural resources, WWF-Vietnam has partnered with Mui Ca Mau National Park to help the people there develop sustainable livelihoods through ecotourism. This work is funded by the HSBC Water Programme, a 5 year, $100 million initiative with Earthwatch, WaterAid and WWF to secure healthy flowing rivers in 5 priority areas, including the Mekong river basin. Read more about how this community-based ecotourism is helping protect globally important wetlands in our story from the field.
