The below industries, civil society and decision makers have all spoken out against the plans by the European Commission to scrap essential legislation that protects citizens’ health and contributes to a sustainable economy. Will they listen and prioritise sustainable development?

World Business Council for Sustainable Development
WBCSD is a CEO-led organization of forward-thinking companies that galvanizes the global business community to create a sustainable future for business, society and the environment. The WBCSD provides a forum for its 200 member companies – who represent all business sectors, all continents and a combined revenue of more than $7 trillion.

European Federation of Waste Management and Environmental Services
FEAD is the European Federation representing the European waste management industry. They have an approximate 60% share in the household waste market and handle more than 75% of industrial and commercial waste in Europe. Their combined annual turnover is approximately € 75 billion. FEAD represents about 3000 companies with activities in all forms of waste management. These companies employ over 320000 people.

The Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment
ACE beverage carton members Tetra Pak, SIG Combibloc and Elopak manufacture over 95% of beverage cartons in Europe. Most of the paperboard they use in cartons for the European market is produced at one of the
four paper mills in Sweden or Finland, owned by Stora Enso and BillerudKorsnäs - also members of ACE. Together the mills and manufacturers employ close to 30,000 people worldwide.

11 EU Member State Ministers & European Parliament Group Leaders
Ministers from Belgium, Germany, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Portugal, Slovenia and Sweden joined forces to support resource efficiency and circular economy, as well as air quality proposals.
Similarly, the group leaders of the European Parliament wrote to President Juncker to maintain existing proposals on the table and to feature environmental and social policy more adequately in its programming.

Green 10
