Evaluating achievements of 3-year work on forest transformation and climate change

WWF project team completed technical assessment of 3-year work (2011/III-2014/III) on forest transformation undertaken in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. 
As part of the EU financed project “On Increasing the resilience of forest ecosystems against climate change in the Southern Caucasus through forest transformation - DCI-ENV/2010/221391”, WWF project team completed technical assessment of 3-year work (2011/III-2014/III) on forest transformation undertaken in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Technical assessment includes evaluation of pilot sites (incl. technical aspects and cost efficiency and cost models), lessons learned in each country regarding land tenure, site selection criteria and site surveys, site preparation and protection works, planting material procurement and quality, planting/ seeding techniques and maintenance measures, summary and outlook.
