SeaWeb is proud to announce the incoming sponsors of the 10th International Seafood Summit. This one-of-a-kind international event is organized by SeaWeb’s Seafood Choices initiative and is taking place 6-8 September 2012 at the Kowloon Shangri-La in Hong Kong. Through their generous support, this year’s sponsors are helping to make the 10th anniversary of the Summit possible and are demonstrating their commitment to improving global fisheries.

“The intersection between seafood and society is an important one, especially in Asia,” said SeaWeb President, Dawn M. Martin. “Finding solutions to ensure this global resource remains healthy and available to a growing global population is a shared responsibility – and is especially important in Asia because of the region’s influential role in the global seafood marketplace. We're thrilled to have these sponsors on board to ensure that these topics and more can be addressed and resolved at the Seafood Summit in Hong Kong.”

The premier sponsors of this year’s Seafood Summit include: FHI 360, Global FISH Alliance, USAID, WWF International, The Global Aquaculture Alliance, High Liner Foods, Loblaw Companies Limited, The Ocean Foundation, Ocean Park Conservation Foundation - Hong Kong, Swire Trust, Luen Thai Fishing Ventures, Norpac Fisheries Export, and Taylor Shellfish Farms. Financial support from sponsors enables and ensures that the Summit continues these critical cross-dialogues and that it remains accessible to all stakeholders in the sustainable seafood community. A special note of thanks goes to the Summit’s institutional sponsors, including the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation, The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, The Oak Foundation, The David & Lucile Packard Foundation and The Walton Family Foundation for their longstanding support of SeaWeb and the Seafood Summit.

The Summit brings representatives of the global sustainable seafood industry, conservation organizations, scientists, academia, policy makers and media professionals together for a three-day conference with the goal of making the seafood marketplace environmentally, socially and economically sustainable. The Summit also offers field trips and workshops taking place before and after the Summit to give delegates hands-on experience in the Asian marketplace.

The Seafood Summit is internationally recognized as a key forum that inspires productive dialogue toward helping today's global business leaders, policy makers, producers and scientists critically examine the factors influencing progress toward a sustainable seafood market. Last year’s Seafood Summit attracted more than 700 delegates from 31 countries.
