Voices for Momos Campaign Launches

In response to a horrific rise in elephant poaching and skinning, WWF-Myanmar has launched an elephant-focused illegal wildlife campaign on November 4-6 in Yangon.
In response to a horrific rise in elephant poaching and skinning, WWF-Myanmar has launched an elephant-focused illegal wildlife campaign on November 4-6 in Yangon. The campaign is named “Voices for Momos,” using an affectionate term for elephants in Myanmar. As one of the campaign activities, a life-sized papier-mache elephant family appeared in front of Yangon City Hall on the morning of November 4th, attracting wide public and media interest.
The “Voices for Momos” campaign will be taking place over six months and will include activities like the “momo promise” to not buy or use elephant products and an online petition calling to end illegal wildlife trade in the country.
