The WWF Panda was invited to open two new eco-gardens at Tanglin Trust Infant School here in Singapore. The children took part in a competition to name the gardens and all those who entered the competition were invited to meet Panda. The winning entries were Nature’s Exploring Garden for the playground garden and The Garden of Discovery for the senses garden. The competition is part of a number of ‘green’ activities devised by the children and teachers for their World Environment Week. The gardens will have a ‘wormery’ and compost heap where children can recycle food scraps and old tyres have been put to a new use as plant pots. The school also held a Mufti day – where they could wear their own clothes to school instead of uniform for a small donation. The Tanglin Trust Infant School children have chosen to make their donation to WWF. Thanks Tanglin Trust!
