Trainings on poultry for local communities

Trainings about poultry for representatives of local communities were held in Sheki, Zagatala and Gakh regions.
On 26-27 March in Shaki and Zagatala and on 1 April in Gakh regions in the framework of “Promotion of Eco-Corridors in Southern Caucasus” program were held trainings about poultry for representatives of local communities.

The purpose of trainings which were held in the framework of FPA (Financial Participatory Approach) was to develop poultry for maintaining ecological balance and sustainable social development. The representatives of local communities got information about the most productive bird species, bird diseases and their treatment, proper care, nutrition of birds and the easiest ways of keeping poultry healthy.

More than 80 representatives of rural communities from Shaki, Zagatala and Gakh took part in trainings.

This programme is implemented in the Greater Caucasus Ecoregional Corridor by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) with the funds provided by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through KfW Development Bank. The consortium of GOPA Consultants, DFS and HessenForst are providing consulting services for the implementation.
