Since 2010, “Earth Hour” has been celebrated in Mongolia at initiative of WWF-Mongolia.  This year’s “Earth Hour” was celebrated under a slogan “Change the Climate Change”.
This year’s event was actively participated by local communities from rural areas particularly from the western aimags, who have joined the anti global warning at their hearth-strings.  To specify, the event in Khovd aimag was organized by the western regional branch office of WWF-Mongolia in cooperation with the aimag’s governmental institutions. It was quite different from those organized in previous years. The organizers placed billboards displaying information and illustrations on climate change at schools and kindergartens and then public areas (e.g. trade centres) for the public.
Furthermore, public running and “Candlelight night” on the aimag’s central square in the evening were organized for the anti-climate change event. During this candlelight moment, electricity of all the buildings in surrounding areas of the squire was off.  Over 2000 individuals gathered for the event. They lighted their candles on and stood up in “60+” after the electricity was off in buildings surrounded the square.  Joined the anti-climate change event, they expressed their voices and sang a song calling for nature and Earth conservation.  To generally conclude, it was a gathering of the people, who are for the nature and Earth.
