WWF Caucasus Programme Office (WWF-Caucasus) in partnership with WWF-Germany is involved in implementation of EU financed Project on Increasing the resilience of forest ecosystems against climate change in the South Caucasus Countries for the period of 2011-2015.

WWF-Caucasus is seeking for procurement of service contract to be concluded with a contractor to provide services for Implementation of Forest Plantations Maintenance Measures on selected pilot forest transformation sites in Georgia


1. THE PROJECT DESCRIPTION

2. SCOPE OF THE ASSIGNENT

Objective of the assignment is to implement forest plantations (planted in 2012-2013) maintenance measures on the following selected pilot forest sites in Georgia :

Pilot Site N1 – “KHASHURI” with total area of 70.7 ha, located on the state forest lands of the former Khashuri State Forestry.

Pilot Site N2 – “TSAVKISI” with total area of 74 ha, located on the former state forest lands of Kojori Forest Unit of the former Tbilisi State Forestry - currently under the management of Municipality of Tbilisi.

The assignment shall be aimed at implementation forest plantations (planted in 2012-2013) maintenance measures on selected pilot forest transformation sites (75,000 broadleaf tree seedlings on Pilot Site – KHASHURI – 70.7 ha and 15,000 broadleaf tree seedlings on Pilot Site TSAVKISI – 74.0 ha).

Maintenance measures shall be performed at least two times and they shall be resulted in:

• clearing of sod creating grasses, weeds and other competing vegetation from around the planted tree seedlings through weeding
• loosening of soil from around the planted tree seedlings

3. TIME FRAME

The service should be performed in June-October of 2014.

4. BUDGET

Maximum budget available for this contract will be equivalent to 10,000 EUR without VAT.

5. EVALUATION

Selected short-listed applicants will be invited to the negotiated tender and asked for technical and financial offers which will be sent to them.

Final selection of a contractor will be made in accordance with the quality-cost based selection method (technical component and price component).

Expression of Interest (EoI) is an alternative to writing a fully-fledged selection-criteria response. The EoI might be with a maximum length such as 1-2 pages.
