On November 13 and 15, 2013 a workshop and a field event on visibility and information exchange were organized by WWF Armenia in the frames of the EU funded project Increasing the Resilience of Forest Ecosystems against Climate Change in the Southern Caucasus through Forest Transformation. The indoor workshop was held in Koghb community near Noyemberyan pilot site in Tavush Region and the outdoor field event was organized on the Lernantsq sub-plot in Spitak pilot site in Lori Region. They were aimed at local communities adjacent to the project demonstration areas, in particular those involved the project field activities.

The aim of the events was to inform the pilot site adjacent communities about the state of the project implementation in both pilot sites with the progress registered so far and to disseminate among them the visibility package produced in the frames of the project. The events were used as a forum to share views about the relevance and significance of transformation measures and to discuss the possibilities of their further involvement in the field activities afterwards upon the project completion as well as to get feedback from the community members about the techniques they have been using, problems they have experienced and ideas for improving on the techniques.

The workshop in Koghb was attended by more than 20 participants, including community representatives and self-governing body representatives from Koghb and Berdavan communities as well as Noyemberyan town, along with the head and staff members of Noyemberyan Forest Enterprise of “Hayantar” SNCO.
The field event in Lernantsq sub-plot was attended by more than 30 participants, including community representatives and self-governing body members from the communities Lernantsq, Saramej and Qaradzor as well as the towns Vanadzor and Spitak along with the head and staff members of Gugarq Forest Enterprise of “Hayantar” SNCO.

During both events the presentation by the project coordinator on the state of the project implementation was followed by an open discussion and exchange of views/information on the topics including the significance of transformation measures in the sites, the benefits of communities involvement in the field activities, problems of field work experienced by the communities and others.
Visibility packages produced in the frames of the EU funded forest transformation project (bag, note-book, pen, T-shirt, cap and cup) along with the other relevant publications produced in the frames of WWF Armenia previous forest projects were distributed to the event participants - community members involved in the project field activities.
