Kathmandu, Nepal - WWF Nepal appointed Zenisha Moktan, Miss Nepal – World 2009, as the Young Conservation Ambassador at a ceremony in Kathmandu on 19 March 2010.

“WWF is pleased to appoint Zenisha as our Young Conservation Ambassador,” said Anil Manandhar, Country Representative of WWF Nepal. “During her tenure she will promote nature conservation in Nepal through awareness and action.”

Following in the footsteps of Payal Shakya, Sugarika KC and Sitashma Chand, former Miss Nepal and the global conservation organization’s Young Conservation Ambassadors in Nepal, she will be actively involved in helping promote conservation especially among the youth. Zenisha will help raise awareness on tiger conservation as a part of WWF’s Year of the Tiger Campaign Tx2.

WWF Nepal started appointing Young Conservation Ambassador from 2004 and since then Payal Shakya, Sugarika KC and Sitashma Chand have contributed to disseminating the message of conservation through word and deed.

“I would, in the best possible way, use this opportunity to raise awareness on conservation issues,” said Zenisha, the newly appointed Young Conservation Ambassador.
