Patterns of Chinese Investment, Aid and Trade in Mozambique

A briefing paper prepared for WWF by the Centre for Chinese Studies, University of Stellenbosch (South Africa) offering an overview of China-Mozambique relations and impacts of Chinese trade and investments on Mozambique's economy, environment and people's livelihood.

The paper provides a brief history of the relationship between China and Mozambique, as well as an overview of China's aid and investment strategy in Mozambique. It also presents views of Chinese investments by representatives of governments, civil society and private sector; and existing evidence of the impacts of Chinese aid and investment on the Mozambican economy, environment and people's livelihoods.
