This landscape covers two provinces of Thailand [Nong Khai and Nakhon Phanom] and two provinces of Laos [Bolikhamxay and Khammouan].

WWF-Laos works on community fishery management, and sustainable rattan forest management in this area. In 2011 Laos became the world’s first FSC certified rattan.

In Khammouan Province, there is a natural FSC forest. WWF’s Global Forest Trade Network is providing timber producers and processors with a framework to achieve Forestry Stewardship Council certification and make trade links with a global network of responsible buyers. In 2009, one of wood processing companies received CoC certificate as the first CoC certified company in Laos.
