WWF INNOVATES FEARLESSLY TO DELIVER AN INSPIRING CONSERVATION NARRATIVE
Innovation tools, mind-sets, and culture are courageously embedded in WWF's way of working, processes, projects, and collaborations resulting in high impact for conservation in local landscape all the way to global systems.

Aimed at tackling the surge in online illegal wildlife trade, this initiative engaged 342 volunteers, identifying and reporting over 15,000 prohibited product listings.
With 348 new search keywords, they harnessed AI to comb digital marketplaces, achieving substantial impact in just a year of funding.
CYBERSPOTTER PROGRAMME

Amidst the chaos of a military coup and a pandemic, a global collaborative effort utilized Design Thinking to reshape WWF Myanmar's approach. Through 4 intensive workshops they devised two innovative prototypes aligned with a 6-month emergency strategy.
These promising solutions gained support, receiving funding for subsequent testing and validation.
DESIGN THINKING FOR MYANMAR

WWF's first social enterprise cooperative, testing innovative market and financial instruments in the most succesful rewilding initiative in Europe where over 180 European bison roam freely. At the foothills of Romania’s Țarcu Mountains, nurtures a local eco-entepreneurial network, runs pioneering wilderness experiences, operates a sustainably built eco-hub hosting retreats and learning programmes and is as a result changing the incentive structure of the local economy so people have a reason to look after it.

WWF UAE addressed nature volunteering needs during lockdowns via Leaders of Change. Organizations pay for employee memberships, accessing unique WWF events, online training, workshops, and volunteering opportunities. With rapid growth from 1000 to 3000 members and €750,000 revenue in year 2, the platform aims for 10,000 members in its third year.

OpenSC addresses the challenge of reducing food-related emissions by enabling data-backed verification of sustainable claims through supply chains.
With QR code tracking, it covers diverse commodities like seafood, palm oil, coffee, and dairy. Backed by over $4M in funding, OpenSC revolutionizes transparency in global food systems.

To address declining ocean health and misdirected finance, the collaboration between Oceans and Finance practices devised a "Global Value at Risk Assessment" tool. Through a Baltic Ecoregion pilot and stakeholder input, they created a global advocacy tool, quantifying risks for investors and promoting a sustainable blue economy.
