COP 26
A landmark meeting for climate action
The UN climate change conference, COP 26, will be held in Glasgow from 31 October to 12 November
COP26 will bring governments together to reboot and refocus global efforts to confront the climate crisis, in a radically different environment altered by COVID-19. It is an important meeting because countries which have signed the Paris Agreement are due to submit the next iterations of their national emissions goals.
These Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) were first drawn up in 2015 and must now be revised with more ambitious targets for 2030, and long-term strategies that set out how and when countries expect to achieve net-zero emissions. These plans are vital if we are to limit global warming to 1.5°C and avoid the most devastating impacts of climate change on people and nature.
We are hopeful that, as we emerge from the global COVID-19 pandemic, and as citizens around the world increasingly demand action on the climate crisis, we can make up for lost time and deliver a convincing response to the climate emergency.

#PandaHub: WWF Pavilion at COP26
The WWF pavilion at COP26 is hosting a wide array of events on topics ranging from food systems to finance, forests, renewable energy, corporate ambition and nature-based solutions.
The #PandaHub is located in Hall 4 in the Blue Zone at COP26 in Glasgow, which requires UN accreditation to access. All events are also streamed on our YouTube channel.

Regional Climate Weeks
Regional climate weeks aim to build momentum for the annual UN Climate Change Conferences and drive forward implementation of the Paris Agreement.- Latin America and Caribbean Climate Week was held on 11-14 May 2021 and hosted by the Dominican Republic.
- Asia-Pacific Climate Week was held on 6-9 July 2021 and was hosted by Japan.
- Africa Climate Week was held on 26-29 September 2021 and was hosted by Uganda.
