The restoration of Monarch butterfly habitats
Monarch butterflies make one of the largest insect migrations in the world, flying around 2,500 miles from the US and Canada to Mexico.
During their migration they provide an essential pollination service but climate change, deforestation and land conversion have contributed to their population declining by almost 80% in just two decades.
Biodiversity loss is a major global crisis but the indigenous Purépecha community and the WWF in partnership with Air Wick are among those working to restore the Monarch’s habitat.
