India has announced major new commitments on renewable energy, including the world’s largest solar power programme, which will also reduce dependence on fossil fuels. A WWF report predicts a bright future for renewable energy in Latin America based on impressive achievements in exploiting natural resources. Green Energy Leaders cites Costa Rica’s target of 100% renewable power by 2021, and Brazil’s expanding wind energy sector as just some of the successes contributing to the region’s status as a clean energy technology hub.

WWF is calling for more investment in renewable energy and decrease investment in coal, oil and gas.
