WWF comments on Climate Action Tracker projections published today

Posted on 09 November 2021

Commenting on Climate Action Tracker projections published today, which show the world is  heading toward at least 2.4˚C of warming,  WWF's Chief Climate Advisor, Dr. Stephen Cornelius said:

"The global warming projections released today highlight just how weak country 2030 targets are. We are far off track from our goal of limiting global warming to 1.5℃ - and science tells us anything above this will have even more catastrophic impacts on people and wildlife.

“This analysis is another shot across the bow, another red alert for humanity. Time is running out. Leaders must listen to the people on the streets calling for action not words, and commit in Glasgow to drastically increase the ambition of their climate action plans and deliver credible action, powerful policies and ambitious funding now.”
