The WWF Arctic Programme is pleased to announce that Peter Winsor, PhD will be the programme's new director beginning October 1, 2018.
 
Peter has in-depth knowledge and decades of experience in the polar regions. As a tenured professor of oceanography at the University of Alaska, he led numerous expeditions to both poles, where he motivated large and small teams to deliver on successful objectives.
 
In addition to Peter’s impressive physical science credentials, he is well versed in social sciences and is committed to strong community leadership and engagement as part of achieving successful outcomes in the Arctic. 
 
Peter’s enthusiasm and strategic ideas for responding to the many threats facing the Arctic are inspiring.  We look forward to welcoming Peter to the WWF family.
