Mission of Department

To align and harmonize technology, digital and data capabilities across the WWF Network to enable operational excellence and conservation impact at scale while safeguarding the organization and the people we work with, through fit for purpose solutions that are device and hardware agnostic, mobile functional, built on secure and scalable cloud enabled technology platforms and are consistently delivered and supported anytime anywhere

 

Major Function

  • Provides thought, technical and operational leadership for the design, deployment, operations and service management for cloud and infrastructure services for the WWF Network to enable the delivery of secure and scalable fit for purpose business solutions.
  • Adopts a holistic technology roadmap utilizing appropriate cloud enabled infrastructure and services to assure operational excellence by streamlining policies, standards and associated processes, optimizing cloud costs and value, minimizing risks associated with technology failures and reporting service levels with transparency.
  • As a key member of the GTDS leadership team, the role provides leadership to the Technology & Digital Services (TDS) team and contributes to the development of Information Technology (IT) talent and growth of digital skills across the WWF Network.

 

Major Duties

  • Develop technical architecture, policies and standards for cloud and infrastructure services to drive a consistent adoption of cloud and infrastructure services across the WWF Network in line with the global digital strategy.
  • Develop a technology roadmap that encompasses the following domains: cloud and infrastructure services management, Network, connectivity and telephony services, cybersecurity operations, endpoint management, service management and customer experience management.
  • Design, deliver, manage and evolve the core cloud and infrastructure services to enable delivery business solutions and services to agreed service levels and ensure solutions and services are accessible on all end-user devices wherever possible.
  • Own end-to-end availability and performance of key cloud and infrastructure services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence and automate response to different service conditions.
  • Lead by example and foster a healthy and collaborative culture within GTDS and other IT teams across the Network.
  • Manages contracts and relationships with key solution and service providers including negotiating Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that maximize service performance and optimize cost and value to the Network.
  • Support annual planning and budgeting for the GTDS function and manage the CIS unit budget to optimize spend and active response to Network investment and operational needs.

 

Required skills and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines. A Master’s degree will be an advantage.
  • Professional IT certifications relevant to cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, service management and/or project management fields.
  • 15 years people management experience leading cloud and infrastructure services teams and working with globally distributed teams in a fast-paced federated environment.
  • Experience in managing cloud services (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS) in a multi-cloud environment.
  • Experience in implementing a strategy to shift from on-premises to a cloud-based infrastructure, solutions and services.
  • Experience in managing a globally distributed network and connectivity infrastructure including hard to reach remote operating environments.
  • Experience with Cloud Security compliance and audits.
  • Excellent people management and talent development skills, a mentor and role model for IT professionals.
  • Proactive, outgoing approach towards introducing new ideas and participating in detailed technological discussion.
  • Must have a very strong service orientation, with excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to convey complex IT concepts to senior management.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
