ICT and Operations Assistant (internship)

WWF European Policy Office (WWF EPO), the Brussels advocacy office of the global conservation organisation WWF, is looking for an intern to join their junior professional programme as an ICT and Operations Assistant.
The Assistant will mainly support the IT Manager in daily tasks servicing and supporting the office’s employees as well as assisting in the Mara project which consists of migrating to a secure and federated Microsoft platform as part of the WWF network. A smaller part of the role will be dedicated to assisting the operations unit.

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Conditions:

  • The first 6 months are under a Belgian internship contract ("convention d’immersion professionnelle/ Beroepsinlevingsovereenkomst”), at a gross salary of 1.400 €/month;
  • Upon the successful completion of the initial internship and of funding being available, there may be an opportunity for a further 6 month fixed term employment contract at a gross salary of 2.600 €/month;
  • Students are not eligible under this scheme and should not apply;
  • Starting date: 1 April 2025.

Main responsibilities:
 
Support to IT Manager (70%):
  • Assist the IT Manager on the task of technical support to the staff in order to solve software and hardware issues;
  • Install / configure Windows systems (Windows 10 and 11) and associated softwares;
  • Provide EPO employees with appropriate support regarding the migration from Google Workplace to Office 365;
  • Assist in organizing training sessions and updating procedures and processes.
  
Support to operations team (30%) in close cooperation with the Operations Officer:
  • Support the Operations team and Operations Officer in the smooth functioning of the office by managing equipment and supplies as appropriate;
  • Ensure the meeting rooms, including equipment, are functional and ready to use.

What you need:

  • at least a secondary school diploma with additional training and/or certification within ICT, broad knowledge of IT system administration and related processes;
  • at least one year of experience as an ICT service desk assistant or in end-user support in a medium-sized organisation;
  • Fluency in French or Dutch with a good working knowledge and command of English.

  • Collaboration tools: proficiency in standard Microsoft Office software package, Google workspace, Windows operating system, virtual and hybrid meetings such as Zoom and Teams.
  • ICT: knowledge in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, basic understanding in networking, security and Windows servers;
  • Organisational and interpersonal skills to function in a multicultural environment;
