With the involvement of the six Coral Triangle nations, appropriate marine policy issues are raised through the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security
, and its Regional and National Plans of Action.
Approaches for moving forward cover such priority areas as tuna, the live reef fish food trade, marine protected areas and marine managed areas, the implementation of the Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM)
, and investments and funding mechanisms in the Coral Triangle.
WWF has also initiated sector-specific platforms, such as the Coral Triangle Fishers Forum
, and the Regional Business Forum.
