2017 Water, Food, and Energy Forum Held in Yangon

The Greater Mekong Forum on Water, Food and Energy was held October 25-27 at the Inya Lake Hotel in Yangon with WWF support.
The Greater Mekong Forum on Water, Food and Energy was held October 25-27 at the Inya Lake Hotel in Yangon with WWF support.

This major annual regional knowledge sharing event brought together participants from countries such as Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, China and around the world.

Freshwater experts from WWF, Marc Goichot, Sami Tornikoski and Dr. Hannah Baleta, presented on “Dolphins and Deltas, Sediment and Sand - How are they all Connected in the Ayeyarwady?”  and led a discussion with the participants. 

WWF-Myanmar is undertaking a research project titled “The Ayeyarwady River and the Economy of Myanmar” to assess how the Ayeyarwady River is benefitting Myanmar’s economy and society.
