"My sincere condolences to the families, friends and co-workers of the people that perished in this tragedy. It is always a time of sadness and grief when loved ones are taken from us, but in this case, it is also a time of sadness and grieving for the nation of Nepal and the earth. There are so many more people on this planet who have little regard for nature and its beauty and the fragile balance that exists in many areas of our planet than there are people who truly care.

These people had made it their lives' work to make a better place for all of us and they will be truly missed; not only by those who knew them, but by all of us who benefit from their hard work. They were so desperately needed and will be so hard to replace. I pray that the legacy they have begun will be continued and nurtured."

The staff of WWF Bhutan are deeply saddened by the loss of many WWF family members and others on board in the Saturday's helicopter crash in Ghunsa areas in Nepal. We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family members and friends of the deceased and pray that they find strength to wade through this darkest hour of grieve. This is indeed an unfathomable loss, not only for WWF Nepal, US and UK but for all the rest of us in the conservation world as all of them had dedicated their lives to conservation.

WWF Bhutan will miss all of them dearly for their unwavering support and visionary guidance that they had provided to the conservation efforts in Bhutan. Mingma Norbu Sherpa has not only helped establish the WWF Bhutan Programme Office and managed it for 6 years but had been a close friend of all Bhutanese. Their bright spirits and fond memories will always live in our hearts. We would also like to commend the Government of Nepal, WWF Nepal, local communities, network staff and all the rest for their steadfast support and assistance

"Hello, I consider all the people who fight for the environment and wildlife on this planet the true soldiers of our times. I unfortunately do not have the time nor the lifestyle to do what people like the ones that died in the helicopter do, and am forever grateful that they are there to carry out the fight. I am truly sorry for this loss, which is a loss not just for the immediate families, but for our dear fragile earth."

"It is very sad to hear that the country has lost its Minister of State for Forests and Soil Conservation, the Secretary of that Ministry, the Director General of National Parks and Wild Life Conservation, the Director General of Forests, several of its most distinguished defenders of natural resources and overseas specialists who were champions for conservation in Nepal.

Nature conservation in the country will suffer a severe setback. It is also very sad to lose a dedicated person to nature -  Dr Chandra Gurung and other WWF staff, Nepal. Our hearts go out to the families of all the passengers and crew on that flight"
