To Jennifer's family I had the chance to meet Jenn when she arrived in Nepal in 2001. I actually welcomed her at the Kathmandu airport in the middle of the night, as I was CECI's volunteer coordinator. As soon as I met her, I knew I would like her. We soon became good friends and we spent some good time together.

Sometimes, making jokes - she was such a happy person, other times, talking about deeper issues. I truly enjoyed being with Jenn. I greeted her welcome to Nepal and she greeted me bye! bye! when I left Nepal for a new posting in Cambodia. I had a wonderful brunch with her just before flying out. Though I have not met Jenn since December 2001, I felt very sad when I learned about the helicopter crash. But this is her: living a life at its fullest. I love you Jenn!

I was lucky enough to have had the privilege to work with many of the amazing and irreplaceable individuals who were lost on September 23, 2006. These twenty-four gave their lives doing what they loved and their absence will be felt across the conservation community, by family members, friends and colleagues for years to come. For those who are suffering I wish solace, the joys of remembrance and the power of light that these friends and colleagues brought into our lives.
