In general, such tragic incidents as this helicoptor crash are mere news items for most of us, involving people not our own. But it gives a whole new perspective when we realise that we have lost someone with whom we have had any kind of association. During the course of closely working with WWF Nepal, I had the opportunity to interact, both professionally and personally, with some remarkable people like Dr. Chandra Gurung, Yeshi ji, Jennifer and Mr. Mingma Sherpa. If at all we could draw any solace from their, and the other fine people's loss, it could be the fact that their final resting place was in the abode of the very mountains for which they cared for!

Dear Jennifer... Jennifer Headley....a beautiful, gentle soul, generous beyond words... People say that you are dead. You may be dead to the world but you will always be alive in my world...I'll never forget your voice or the sound of your laugh.. You were one of the best friends one could ever have and although losing you was one of the worst things that's ever happened in my life, I'm grateful for the time that we did have together. I still remember when you once said ‘I just felt as if we were sisters...I really depended on you, both as my colleague and as my friend’... It just seems unreal to think that you are no more... May your soul rest in peace, Jenn...I’ll love you and miss you forever. Your friend always!
