Rhododendron, Tang Jia He Nature Reserve, Sichuan Province, China.
Between 1,700 and 2,100 m where a mixed coniferous and deciduous broadleaved forest predominates, there are dense thickets of bamboo and evergreen rhododendrons, ranging in size from low shrubby species to trees. Not only do giant pandas live in these forests, but many of our flowering ornamentals hail from these forests, including varieties of azaleas, lilies, and peonies.
