Sustainable development which is the principle of Heart of Borneo (HoB) Initiative involves many parties from various sectors such as the public, private, NGOs and other entities. All support and cooperation of the related sectors that synergy are expected to implement the programs of this initiative, including sustainable forest management.
WWF Indonesia through GFTN (Global Forest and Trade Network) program encourages forest private sector in Indonesia to implementation sustainable forest management. PT. Adimitra Lestari, as a one of GFTN Indonesia member have fully commitment to implement it, even more their concession located in HoB (Heart of Borneo) and Borneo Elephant home range. One of the efforts is capacity building through training for company field staff to achieve the goals.
Collaborating with PT. Adimitra Lestari, GFTN Indonesia was conducted training of harvest builder map for field staff. This training was continuous activities before on Mei 2012 and February 2013 and followed by Planning Division consisting GIS, skidding road and forest inventory personels. These activities were held by PT. Adimitra Lestari, Siemanggaris site, Nunukan District on 4 – 8 February 2014.
Dhani Ispandiar as a manager camp at the opening ceremony expected all participants can join seriously and might have good implementation. Contents of the training are introduction of RIL, PAK and paths data processing, tree inventory before harvesting, topo mapping and harvest map builder.
Data processing simulation performed on 2 ha plot area as a sample of data processing for 1 year production area. The result of data processing practice those were processed and repackaged into a map of the whole harvesting plan. This training activity was expected to be overview of good map of harvesting plan and suitable the rules of RIL.
