The 2-day Workshop on Mainstreaming Ecosystem Based Approaches to Climate Change into Biodiversity Conservation Planning took place on the 15-16 October at Daewoo Hotel, Hanoi. The workshop has drawn participation from more than 150 representatives from relevant ministries, research institutes, universities, NGOs, and other relevant partners, all of whom are working on biodiversity and natural resource management.

The workshop is co-organized by Vietnam Environment Protection (VEA), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), WWF and the GMS Environment Operation Center (EOC) of the ADB, with the objective of sharing results and experiences on how to mainstream an ecosystem based approach for climate change adaptation and mitigation into policy development in Vietnam with national and international stakeholders, and to discuss opportunities for regional cooperation with GMS countries.

News of the workshop was broadcast by a number of local media.
