WWF International Director-General Jim Leape sends postcards to tiger rangers
Jim Leape was happy to be able to convey his thanks to the rangers who are critical towards achieving Zero Poaching. He wrote two different messages on the postcards:
"On behalf of everyone at WWF and our 6 million supporters around the world, I want to convey our deep gratitude for your courageous work to protect the tiger."
"Thank you for your dedicated service to protecting the tiger. All of us at WWF are grateful for what you do."
The Cards4tigers action features rangers working in WWF-supported tiger landscapes. It enables people from everywhere to tell these rangers they care and thereby help to boost morale and promote the rangers' work. Cards4tigers will run till June next year. Currently it features rangers from Nepal, Indonesia, Malaysia and Cambodia. Rangers from China will join in the action this week, and others from India and Russia later in the year.
Results from the Cards4tigers action will be used to urge tiger range governments to invest more in the rangers and therefore in better protection and enforcement of the tiger's habitat.
