Orieta Hulea who is currently the Head of Danube/Freshwater at the WWF Danube-Carpathian Programme, will lead the shared conservation activities of WWF Danube-Carpathian Programme, WWF Austria and WWF Hungary.

Dr Hulea has a doctorate and MSc in Biology. After starting her career in research at the Danube Delta Research Institute, she worked as a fundraiser for a couple of years. In 2005 she came to work for WWF DCP as coordinator for the Lower Danube Green Corridor - Europe's most ambitious wetland protection and restoration initiative. In 2008, she took over as Head of Danube/Freshwater. As a field biologist, Orieta Hulea is firmly grounded as a conservationist, but appreciates and understands the role of policy, communications, marketing and education.
