Gland, Switzerland: WWF International says it is “grateful and elated” that proceeds from Kirsty Bertarelli’s new single, a remix of conservation anthem Green, will go to supporting WWF conservation projects around the world.

“Kirsty's anthem is a powerful plea for us to renew our relationship with nature,” said WWF International Director General Jim Leape. “The anthem will contribute directly in many ways, including financially, but it also encourages all of us to live in a way that the Earth can in fact sustain.”

The noted singer said the song, which cautions that environmental destruction is “hidden by the treadmill of our daily lives” and that “if we just stopped” we would see our world crashing down”, was inspired by her children.

"My children are always telling me to turn the water off to stop wasting it and turn off the lights to save electricity and it occurred to me how much these little people care about their planet,” she said.

The Bertarelli Foundation of former two times America’s Cup winner Ernesto Bertarelli and his wife Kirsty is emerging as a prominent supporter of environmental initiatives.

“I am thrilled that my music will now go towards preventing deforestation and supporting conservation” Kirsty Bertarelli said. “We have a responsibility to maintain the beauty of this world for future generations, thank you kids for inspiring me to hopefully inspire others!"
