In 1990, WWF signed an Agreement with the Government of the Republic of Zambia recognising WWF’s dedication to world-wide conservation of the natural environment.
The agreement further authorised WWF to establish an office in Lusaka for purposes of managing its conservation projects in the country.
Later in 1991, the WWF International Secretariat recognized Zambia as a focal country with respect to conservation efforts within the region.
A WWF programme office for Zambia was formally established to administer and manage the development and implementation of WWF country programmes, and to provide technical assistance.
WWF Zambia Country Office has now over 50 years of dedicated commitment to the conservation of Zambia's biodiversity.
